Welcome To Poland First To Fight Website!

World War 2, also known as the Second World War, was the largest armed conflict in the history of mankind, spanning the entire world and involving more countries than any other war. It began on September 1, 1939 with the German invasion of Poland, which was soon after followed by the Russian attack on eastern Poland on September 17. Poland was the only country which fought in the European theatre of war from the first to the last day of World War 2 and, although at times experienced defeat, never capitulated.

The losses Poland suffered during the reign of terror under both the German and Soviet occupations were very high. Over 6 million citizens perished in German hands and about 2 million perished in Soviet labour camps and various places of execution, including Katyn. Despite this bloody contribution the post war Poles did not enjoy the freedom and independence they had fought for. With the consent of its Western Allies, Poland was left under the yoke of Russian communism. For the next 45 years the Polish nation had to suffer from an alien and brutal system, being exposed to terror and murder.

This website is dedicated to the millions of Polish men and women, soldiers and civilians who died for our freedom. We shall not forget!

The Soviet Occupation of Poland

This pamphlet arrives at an opportune moment. So much has happened, and upon such a gigantic scale, since the invasion of Poland, that there is a tendency to forget that Soviet Russia is holding down by force half the territory and one-third of the population of our ally...
